1.
Change modes with just one button
Due to the BTR15’s ability to work as a Bluetooth receiver and as a USB DAC, we have implemented a PC/BT/PHONE mode button on it. With just a click of a button, you can quickly switch between the three different modes to match your current scenario for listening to high-quality music.
PC: Connect as a USB DAC, totally powered by the computer.
BT: Bluetooth DAC and amp, powered by the BTR15’s internal battery; when connected via USB, it can be charged.
PHONE: Connect to a phone as a USB DAC dongle, powered by the BTR15’s internal battery.
2.
Global parametric EQ
Be the master of your music
The BTR15 features a global parametric equalizer (PEQ). Through FIIO’s self-developed PEQ algorithm and user interface, in any mode* you can choose the exact frequencies to be adjusted along with their gain levels and bandwidth – allowing you to fine-tune the sound to exactly the way you want it.
PEQ notes:
*BT mode PEQ adjustments are implemented through the QCC5125 DSP with support for LDAC and other Bluetooth codecs up to 96kHz/24bit.
*PC/PHONE mode PEQ adjustments are implemented through the XMOS XU316 with support up to PCM 192kHz.
*PC/PHONE mode PEQ adjustments are implemented through the XMOS chip. Enabling or disabling the PEQ, USB will restart and disconnect.
3.
Dual-core upgrade
Two modes of high-res audio
The upgrades start from the heart of the BTR15, specifically the cores that power it. The BTR15 employs the high-performance combination of the Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth chip = XMOS 16-core XU316 that supports stable high-res audio playback in any mode*, allowing you more ways to immerse yourself in the world of high-quality hi-res music.
Sampling rate notes:
*BT mode supports LDAC/aptX Adaptive/aptX LL/aptX HD/aptX/AAC/SBC and other high-resolution Bluetooth codecs with sampling rates up to 96kHz;
*PC/PHONE modes support asynchronous decoding up to 384kHz/32bit PCM and DSD256.
4.
MQA support for master-quality sound
The BTR15 supports up to MQA 8x decoding, allowing for high-resolution, master-level sound quality in reasonably sized files well-suited for your mobile device.
MQA Full Decoder for master-quality sound
The BTR15 supports MQA Full Decoder*, which means the MQA decoding can be achieved in any music app. This allows for high-resolution, master-level sound quality in reasonably sized files well-suited for your mobile device.
*Supports up to 384kHz sampling rate
5.
Dual curved glass
Dual upgrades to look and grip
With the BTR15, FIIO uses hot-bent curved glass for the first time – embedding it on both the front and the rear of the device. Not only does this make the device easier to hold, but it also gives the BTR15 a more attractive and 3D appearance. Together with the aluminum alloy middle frame, they make the BTR15 a comfortable device to handle – you won’t be able to put it down once you pick it up.
6.
0.96-inch OLED display
See all the info with just a glance
Like its bigger brother the BTR7, the BTR15 also features a large display – a brilliant 0.96-inch OLED display. This display not only allows displaying more information at once, it also allows for larger display fonts – making it easier for you to see the device status and change various settings. Moreover, it is the rarely seen device that supports bilingual languages, Chinese and English, among similar products.
7.
Dual outputs
Covering all angles
In addition to the standard 3.5mm single-ended headphone output, the BTR15 also comes with the widely-used 4.4mm balanced headphone output – featuring greater contact reliability and durability compared to the 2.5mm balanced out. The dual outputs ensure you can use the BTR15 with more headphones, for more remarkable listening experiences.
8.
Independent power supply for amp
Explosive power
Electricity is the mother of sound. With this in mind, FIIO engineers have designed an independent power supply for the headphone amplifier section of the ES9219MQ – meaning that the headphone amplifier does not share a power supply with the DAC portion. This results in purer and more robust power for the headphone amp. In addition, the specially designed external power supply features low noise and high current, resulting in a 40% increase of output power to 340mW – easily meeting the demands of any portable listening needs.
9.
Parallel output, more power
You don’t have to use the 4.4mm balanced output to enjoy the benefits of increased output power. In order to improve the performance of the BTR15 in every aspect, FIIO connected the headphone outputs in parallel to also greatly increase the output power of the 3.5mm single-ended output to better drive low-impedance headphones, allowing you to better unlock their potential.
10.
Comprehensive battery protection
From worry to peace of mind
In order to alleviate concerns about battery health, FIIO engineers have implemented a number of software and hardware measures to comprehensively protect the BTR15’s battery.
Battery isolation: When connected to a computer and used in USB DAC mode for long periods of time, the BTR15 can stop the battery from being charged and can be totally powered by the computer, avoiding battery degradation;
Durable high-temperature resistant battery: more resistant against high temperatures for longer durability;
Built-in temperature sensor: dynamic charge and discharge detection and charging current automatic adjustment based on temperature* effectively prevents thermal damage to the battery.
*Detected high temperatures will result in charging current being adjusted. Depending on the device’s current state, charging may be reduced in speed or turned off.
